BLUECOAT is a research consortium funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) under the Horizon Europe scheme (Grant Agreement 101213072). The aim of the BLUECOAT project is to develop a suite of bio-based and low-carbon emission coatings tailored for applications in marine, textile, and construction sectors, alongside versatility studies for three additional end-applications, implementing and surpassing the most advanced SSbD guidance.
BLUECOAT brings together a multidisciplinary team of 17 entities from 11 European and associated countries. The coatings to be developed will exhibit exceptional technical performances in demanding and extreme conditions such as resistance towards high and low temperature, prolonged exposure to aqueous environment, UV radiation exposure, while also enhancing sustainability and circularity, health and safety profiles compared to their (fossil-based) counterparts.
